TOMPA has walked in all avenues of the music scene. Starting young as a classically trained violinist, his focus soon turned to the double bass. Throughout his youth, he performed with numerous orchestras, fiddle groups, and jazz ensembles, building a strong musical foundation that would later inform his work as a multi-instrumentalist and producer. TOMPA has toured extensively as a guitarist, violinist/cellist and keyboardist with acts like Silverstein and AP Dhillon. After graduating from OIART (Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology) in 2010, TOMPA moved to the UK to intern at Outhouse Studios under John Mitchell, Ben Humphreys, and James Billinge (Architects, Heights, Your Demise, Lower Than Atlantis, Anavae, Enter Shikari). The internship quickly evolved into a full-time role, leading him to work on projects for both independent and major label artists (Universal/Island, Epic/Sony, Century Media), as well as at Red Bull Studios and on tour across the UK with bands he had recorded. Based in Toronto since 2013, TOMPA works as a freelance producer, engineer, and musician. His client list spans a wide range of genres and includes artists such as AP Dhillon, Nicolina, Priyanka, Tafari, Sofia Camara, and Ryland James. His broad musical background allows TOMPA to bring a unique, multifaceted perspective to every session he joins—whether he's behind the console, writing, or performing. TOMPA keeps his classical roots alive as a session string performer. His string arrangements can be found on acts such as Sebastian Gaskin, The Devil Wears Prada, Chris Grey, Flower Face, and The OBGMs.
