As a singer, Tara Slone gained recognition as the front woman of the Juno-nominated rock band Joydrop, and earned international attention as a finalist on CBS’s Rockstar: INXS. Simultaneously, she built a successful acting career, with roles in numerous film and television projects. Tara transitioned into broadcasting at a small Toronto TV station, quickly discovering that her experience as an artist gave her a unique edge as an interviewer. She went on to host Breakfast Television Calgary for five years, where she also broke into sports media as a contributor to Sportsnet. Tara went on to co-host the groundbreaking show Rogers Hometown Hockey with Ron MacLean for eight seasons and developed the Sportsnet series Top of [HER] Game, celebrating women in sport. Now based part-time in the Bay Area, Tara is a host and reporter for The San Jose Sharks and NBC Sports Bay Area. Tara hosts two weekly SiriusXM shows: No Filter (Canada Talks) and No Offense, But… (Poplandia). An in-demand live host and interviewer, Tara recently had the honour of interviewing The Tragically Hip at Toronto’s legendary Massey Hall. She is a 2020 Canadian Screen Award nominee for her work on the CityTV music series Budweiser Stage at Home.
