Rachel Quester is a Supervising Producer for The Daily, the audio news podcast from The New York Times. In her role, Rachel oversees the show's political coverage, which includes developing and executing coverage plans for both major news events and long-term enterprise targets, as well as editing multiple episodes per week. She also leads editorial planning writ-large for The Daily, identifying editorial priorities across a range of topics. Rachel is one of the founding members of The Daily, joining the team just weeks after the show launched in February of 2017. Before joining The Times, Rachel worked as a producer for both NPR and the Scripps Washington Bureau. Rachel is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, co-teaching a course on investigative narrative podcasting. When she's not podcasting, you can find Rachel playing tennis or cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes.
