Mint Simon

Mint Simon

MINT SIMON is the solo project of Caveboy’s frontperson. Born and raised in Montreal, Mint’s journey began as a theatre kid, evolved into leading a band, and has now blossomed into a pop artist living somewhere between Ferris Bueller and Prince on the gender spectrum. Their music delves into themes of love, missed chances, desire, and sexual freedom, serving as a vehicle for self-discovery. Mint crafts catchy, emotional pop tunes while embracing their unapologetic queerness and influences from 80s and 90s pop, unrestrained in their authenticity. Mint’s singles have received support from major industry players, including placements on Spotify’s ‘Night Pop,’ ‘Out Now,’ and ‘Fresh Finds,’ plus coverage in Apple Music, Amazon Music, MTV’s Bop Shop, Attitude, Autostraddle, The Juno Awards, GLAAD, Out Front Magazine, iHeartRadio, and more. Mint’s music has been featured in shows like Not Dead Yet (ABC), Maid (Netflix), Orange Is the New Black (Netflix), Queer As Folk (Reboot), and films such as CRUSH and The Sex Lives of College Girls (HBO). In 2023, Mint performed at Spring Reverb and opened for LIGHTS at Base31. In 2024, they played shows in Toronto, Montreal, and as part of TeamCanada’s showcase. They are currently part of RBC Music’s ‘First Up’ program. Mint has collaborated with BrightLightBrightLight and Davey Oberlin’s synthwave project All The Damn Vampires. With Caveboy, Mint built a strong fanbase and has performed at sold-out shows and festivals like SXSW, Osheaga, and Pride Toronto. Their debut album, Night in the Park, Kiss in the Dark, was a major success, with ""Landslide"" and ""Hide Your Love"" gaining significant attention.
