Mingxuan "prodbyming" Gao mononymously known as Ming is a Chinese-Canadian artist, songwriter, and producer based in Toronto, and the creative force behind the genre-blurring band Kennen. Blending indie pop, alt-R&B, and cinematic production, Ming leads the project with a sound that’s both emotionally vulnerable and sonically adventurous. Ming began producing music at just 12 years old and has since racked up over 20 million streams. As the front person of Kennen, they gained attention with the 2020 single “1 2 365 4 Me” and broke through with the viral track “Timothée Chalamet,” a tender queer love song that now counts over 1.2 million Spotify streams.
