Matthew Vlahovich is a JUNO-nominated artist and respected Canadian music industry professional with over 20 years of experience across A&R, artist development, performance, and creative direction. Best known as the lead singer and primary songwriter of indie-synth band Young Empires, Matthew toured internationally, sharing stages with acts like Chromeo, Phoenix, Bastille, and Foster the People, while performing in cities including London, Paris, New York, and Mexico City. Following his success as a performer, Matthew transitioned into A&R and artist mentorship, holding key roles at respected Canadian labels including Cadence Music Group, Pheromone Recordings, Wax Records, and Physical Presents. His roster has included breakthrough and award-winning talent such as Dear Rouge, Tommy Lefroy, and The Trews. As founder of Glass Temple Management and creative director of Waveshape Creative, a Toronto-based recording studio, Matthew continues to support artists at all stages of their journey—blending strategic insight with a passion for authentic storytelling. With an academic foundation that includes a Master’s in International Relations and a BA from Queen’s University, Matthew brings a unique global perspective to the evolving music landscape.
