In his role at the Community Radio Fund of Canada, Alex leads a team that provides funding to more than 235 eligible community, Indigenous, and campus radio stations. Alex is a fierce advocate for local news and information as well as the critical role of community media in Canadian broadcasting. Alex has decades of broadcasting experience having launched CJLO radio in Montreal more than 25 years ago. He became an investigative reporter and host at the CBC where he worked in Montreal, Winnipeg, and Quebec City. He left the CBC to take on the role of Chief of Staff first for two Presidents at Laurentian University then supporting the National Chief at the Assembly of First Nations.
